DERBY BREWING ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE ACQUISITION OF THE PAPERMILL, DARLEY ABBEY

The Papermill, is located in the heart of the village of Darley Abbey, on the edge of the iconic Darley Park, in the Darley Abbey Conservation area and links back to the village’s rich history of the Darley Abbey Mills.

The site will follow the blueprint of the award-winning Hole in the Wall, Mickleover our take on a Micro pub. As you would expect from Derby Brewing there will be array of our own and guest cask ales, craft beers, lagers, and ciders. Showcasing UK and world brewers, with artisan spirits and a premium wine range. Coupled with fresh bean to cup coffee and hot beverages, locally produced cakes and artisan bar snacks from our deli fridge.

Initially we will close for a quick turnaround, as we look to introduce our new product range, please bear with us as we sell through some of the existing stock at discounted prices. Which will be quickly replaced by our usual product range, alongside the fresh bean artisan coffee, and hot beverages and deli offering perfect after a walk in the park.

We will, be reopening on Thursday 12th December at Midday as we wouldn’t want anyone going thirsty over Christmas!

As with all Derby brewing pubs, dogs and children are welcome with well behaved adults.

Due to the time of year the transformation will be two staged, initially we will get open for the festive period with the evolving product range, stage two will take place as we close Mon 6th January for the full refurbishment, and increasing the draft beers available with the new cellar works alongside the refurbishment of the building. We are looking to reopen as all new and renamed Little Darley in the last week of January.

Post refurbishment we will be creating a cosy premium local, plans will include a new look, with a warm colour pallet, new furniture, a log burner, and new toilets with an unrivalled drinks range locally. Proudly displaying fantastic cask ales, world lagers and craft beers. Great hot beverages, a premium wine range and artisan spirits. Fresh deli snacks and cakes plus a function room available for private hire and events.

This follows the new growth strategy for Derby Brewing, targeting in community sites where there’s a strong local customer base and demand for quality drinks in a premium environment.
