Floating on Clowes 9

It’s no secret that here at Derby Brewing we LOVE everything about Derby. So once we heard the news that Derby County Football Club had a new owner we were literally on cloud 9.

After the success of Paulo One Hop and our efforts in raising money in support of Derby County Football Club when they were placed in administration it was a dead cert that we would create a special beer to celebrate this fantastic news.

Yet again our brewers have created another magnificent beer “On Clowes 9” 4.2% pale ale will be brewed with Maris Otter malt and hopped with Citra and Nelso Sauvin for a citrus hit.

Paul Harris, MD of Derby Brewing, said:

‘After what has been a torrid time for all Derby fans and the city we wanted to brew a beer to thank David for stepping in and saving our club and the exciting new beginning! We couldn’t be happier to have the club and stadium back in honest local hands and that of a true fan that we are sure will be a fantastic steward of what is the biggest of all community assets! Thank you, David, from all of us at Derby Brewing.’

Trevor Harris, Director of Brewing at DBC said:

‘We are a family business and Paul and I are lifelong Derby fans and season ticket holders like many across our city. So, when the news broke we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than a beer to enjoy knowing our club’s future is secured, we can’t wait to cheer the boys on Saturday and a huge thank you to David and his family for stepping in’ 

We really hope pubs locally and from further afield will get behind the beer by getting it on their bars however “On Clowes 9” is now available in all Derby Brewing Company venues now.
