A VERY SPECIAL BREW
Our #beardybrewers have created a new beer in memory of one of Derby Brewing Company’s previous employees, Gary Nock.
Gary, who was our Executive Chef for three years, sadly passed away in July after a short battle with cancer. Gary loved cooking and worked across the North of England (including his beloved Manchester) and Germany in various chef positions throughout his career.
Gary had three big passions in his life – Rod Stewart, Manchester City FC and beer. Our brewers took all these into consideration in creating Nocker – a lager inspired pale ale fermented to Man City chants and Rod Stewart tunes.
10p from each pint of Nocker sold will go to Annabel’s Angels, a cancer charity based in Derby. Annabel’s Angels began in 2012 by a group of cancer survivors following the sad death of their friend Annabel Hancox. They aim to raise funds and increase support for patients, carers and families living with the disease in the local area. The charity is 100% volunteer-led with all income generated by donations and fundraising. The charity works closely with the Royal Derby Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and other cancer related support services to help improve the quality of life for families.
For more information about Annabel’s Angels and the work they do, please visit www.annabelsangels.co.uk.
Nocker is being served at The Tap on Derwent Street, The Greyhound on Friar Gate and The Queen’s Head at Little Eaton, as well as our trade partners across the UK. Please give it a try and help us support this great charity.
Cheers to you, Gary.
