The Tap Welcomes Back Veteran Real Ale Connoisseur, John Moore

Posted on

Derby Brewing Company is happy to announce that John Moore, the previous bar manager at The Tap, has returned! An active member in the local beer community, John has worked in pubs across the country for many years making them centres for real ale.

The Tap is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2018, after it was saved from demolition and brought back to life by Trevor and Paul Harris, owners of Derby Brewing Co.  John has returned to help bring The Tap back to its roots and build on the special link between The Tap and our DBC Brewery. “It’s exciting times at Derby Brewing Co. We’re expanding on our traditional and ever-popular core ale range into new, modern beers. These beers will be experimental and unlike anything created before.”

John is keen to bring back more of the real ales to The Tap and expand the range of UK craft keg, bottle and cask range on offer. John is also working with the brewery to create exclusive beers for The Tap and promote the changes that are happening in the brewing industry. “Some of our new beers will be unfined and unfiltered and will be offered across the craft keg and cask market. We’ve got a team of really talented young brewers who make exciting beers in modern styles. I know these beers are going to sell well and encourage younger customers into The Tap.

“I want to bring it back to a local, family friendly Brewery Tap where the drinks are the focus alongside our pub classic dishes. We’re developing a new food menu and will have beers to match each dish.”

Keep an eye out for future Tap Takeovers too where the best in local and national beers will be showcased.
