Who are we?

We are Derby’s local brewer with many awards for our beers, venues and business acumen, a family run craft business with over 30 years brewing expertise in producing handcrafted premium real ales. We see a growing pub estate as a crucial part of our growth plans, to date we have acquired and fully renovated three pubs winning numerous awards.

We are passionate about quality and individuality, each of our venues are individual with their own style, drink and food offering. Our current venues include a specialist drinks pub (The Tap), a quirky city centre venue (Greyhound) focused around craft beer and street food, a destination cosy village pub (Queens Head) focused around great drinks and tasty Gastro style food and the Kedleston Country House a boutique hotel, relaxed restaurant, bar with extensive drinks range and wedding venue.

Across all our pubs we are passionate about food and drinks selection we only sell the finest drinks and produce the best homemade food, which is made from scratch using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

The Greyhound is one of Derby’s best loved pubs, newly awarded best pub at the Derby Food and Drink Awards, our quirky take on a city centre venue, with fantastic drinks range of big on craft beers of our course our own beers plus a street food vibe. There are big plans for the Greyhound with an extensive new look and refurbishment planned for January.

As a growing business we will look to continue to grow our estate going forward, as such we hope to offer great progression opportunities to the right candidates.

The role

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to work at an iconic venue and to join our front of house team, joining a company with growing reputation.

As part of the role you would be trained on all front of house aspects of service, across both bar, floor and cellar management. Following the successful apprenticeship we would look to fast track suitable candidates onto our management scheme across our growing business.

Who are we looking for?

An organised passionate individual who is enthusiastic about what they do. Someone looking for a long term career in hospitality, a people person, with good communication skills who can work as part of a team & work using their own initiative, a good sense of humour is essential. A real person, with a passion for excellent service, a genuine interest for craft beer, great drinks and fantastic food. Someone who is looking to develop their skills and progress a career through this growing family run company.

Hours of work

The role is for a minimum of 40 hours per week, with two days off a week, working 5 days out of 7 which is likely to include weekend work depending on the needs of the business.
