The Tap is pleased to announce that they are hosting a gin festival from Friday 25th August to Sunday 27th August to celebrate the launch of their amazing new drinks menu.
Winner of the East Midland’s Pub & Bar of the Year and with a reputation for its quality drinks selection, The Tap’s new drinks menu now offers an even wider selection of drinks with a host of craft beers from around the world as well as ales and ciders to spirits and cocktails. There are now over 70 artisan gins on the menu too offering the widest choice in Derby.
Speaking about the changes Managing Director Paul Harris commented: “Gin is huge right now and while The Tap has always offered a great choice of gins we decided it was time to go all out. There are so many weird and wonderful gins out there that people have never heard of, we wanted to showcase as many of those as we can at The Tap. We’ll be changing our gins on a monthly basis so there will always be a new gin to try and we’ll also be launching our own Gin Club soon.”
The team are all very knowledgeable and passionate about their drinks (especially gins!) and love to recommend some of the more unusual gins to try. If you want to find out more about the heritage of a gin, what botanicals are used or what’s the best garnish to serve a gin with, the team at The Tap are the ones to ask.
The Gin Festival is the perfect opportunity for people to sample some gins they may not heard of yet. Speaking of the event Bar Manager Ed Gibson commented: “We’re rather proud of our great selection of artisan gins, there is such a diverse and mind blowing array available I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed. My personal favourite is a new western gin Capreolus Garden Tiger Gin, The Whiskey Exchange’s spirit of the year. With an enticing aroma from the Seville blood orange, it’s certainly a must try for any gin lover. We’re also lucky to be supported from tonic supplier Fever Tree who will be having a stand at our Gin Festival and are on hand to recommend the best flavoured tonic to go with our amazing gins.”
It’s not just the drinks menu that has had a revamp. The lunch menu has had a fresh new look and offers an extensive choice of wraps, ciabattas and paninis along with Tap favourites of nachos and fish and chips. Along with the dinner menu and weekly themed food nights, you’re spoilt for choice if you are looking for delicious freshly cooked food.
Paul Harris added: “We have evolved The Tap over the years and will continue to bring something new to the people of Derby, combining our great ales, crafts beers, homemade food and now all things gin. We are also making the most of our cosy Arc Room which offers a relaxed dining and private hire space. We are thrilled to have saved such a beautiful part of Derby’s history from demolition and as we approach the tenth anniversary will be bringing much more for our loyal customers. Here’s to the next decade.”
